NASTA Chair, Russell Sykes of New York, testified on March 11th before the House Ways and Means subcommittee on Income Security and Family Support. A full copy of his prepared testimony submitted for the record is now available in the “Resources” section of the NASTA website.
NASTA and APHSA Send Letter to House Leadership Underscoring Urgent Need for TANF Emergency Funds
APHSA and NASTA have forwarded a letter to House leaders highlighting the urgent need for Congress to establish emergency funding for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program in FY2011. The letter highlights the need for emergency money as states come up against their own fiscal year deadlines and the difficult choices many will be forced to make if emergency funding remains uncertain after September 30.
